Covid-19 FAQs What steps have we taken and will continue to take as a practice to ensure the safety of staff and patients? Performing daily temperature checks for all staff and patients. Asking screening questions for all patients, staff and other persons entering the office. Rescheduling patients who exhibit symptoms or have been exposed to COVID-19 and ensuring that ill or exposed staff follow appropriate self-quarantine measures. Thoroughly sanitizing our facility in accordance with CDC guidelines. Offering Telehealth appointments when deemed appropriate. Limiting visitors to those escorts required for special assistance or circumstances. Sanitizing work areas upon arrival and midday, including private staff restrooms. Check in area, including chairs, countertops, pens, credit card machines, and bathrooms will be disinfected hourly. All areas of entry, door handles, elevator buttons and stair handrails will be wiped down prior to start and midday. Signs will be placed in restrooms to remind patients and staff of proper hygiene. What should patients expect on the day of the visit? Patients will be screened outside the office. Social distancing stickers are in the foyer of the 2nd floor leading to temperature screening. Patients must come unattended unless necessary. No more than one guest should accompany a patient. Guests will be screened as well. Once full screening is complete, patients will be directed to check in. Check in areas will have counter shields, hand sanitizer, and wipes. All patients, front office, clinical, and providers will be required to wear a mask. We are reducing common use items such as pens, paper, magazines, iPads and other items and are utilizing verbal authorizations for registration signatures and clinical consents. A nurse will greet each patient immediately after the check in process has been completed and place that individual in an exam as quickly as possible as an isolated waiting room. Minimization of patients in the waiting room What are we doing to maintain social distancing standards? Limiting our provider schedules to 2 providers in each suite, scheduling at 15-minute intervals. Limiting the waiting room seating capacity. Reconfiguring workstations and staff flow patterns throughout the office. Once a visit is completed, exit arrows will lead patients out of the office minimizing additional exposure. There will be no formal check out. A call with be made to schedule follow up appointments within 24 hours. A nurse will clean exam rooms after each patient encounter-including counters, table, chairs and doorknobs.
